Uncovering Wonder Woman’s Global Influences Through Gal Gadot’s Journey

Gal Gadot, the well-known actress who played the role of Wonder Woman, will be presenting at the 2018 Oscars, despite the fact that her blockbuster movie was not nominated. Gadot has rapidly gained popularity in Hollywood and is currently one of the most celebrated rising stars. Her portrayal of a feminist superhero has earned her several awards, such as the National Board of Review’s Spotlight Award, and even a nomination for a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award. What makes her story intriguing is the fact that she served in the Israeli army as a soldier for two years before pursuing an acting career.

According to JON KOPALOFF/FILMMAGIC, the well-known individual from Petah Tikva, Israel, was required to serve in the military when they turned 20. It should be noted that serving in the military is a compulsory duty for all Israeli citizens who are 18 and above, regardless of their gender.

In a 2015 interview with Fashion magazine, the actress shared how her time in the army provided her with essential skills for her Hollywood career. Prior to enlisting, Gadot had already achieved the prestigious Miss Israel title at the young age of 18 and even represented her country in the Miss Universe pageant held in Ecuador. However, serving as a combat instructor in the military offered Gadot valuable experiences that ultimately helped shape her successful acting career.

After completing her two-year military service, the well-known personality made a decision to enroll in IDC Herzliya college where she pursued a degree in law and international relations. While studying law, she was given a chance to audition for the role of a Bond girl in Quantum of Solace by a casting director. However, she initially declined the offer as she felt that her intellectual and serious demeanor did not fit the mold of an actress. Furthermore, she was uneasy about the fact that the script was solely in English, despite being proficient in the language.

Her love for acting was sparked when she failed to secure a role she auditioned for, but later landed a part in an Israeli TV program. Despite having only completed one year of schooling, she caught the attention of the casting director who previously rejected her for a James Bond movie, and was offered the opportunity to portray Gisele in the Fast Furious franchise – a significant milestone in her acting career. She relocated to America to fully pursue her passion and rapidly established herself in the entertainment sector. As they say, the rest is history.

Gal Gadot, the lead actress of the blockbuster film Wonder Woman, lives together with her husband Yaron Versano and their two charming kids, Maya and Alma, in Los Angeles.
